Work Experience
4 years of documented engineering execution across high-pressure industrial control valves at Emerson (Fisher) and automotive exhaust systems at L&T Technology Services.
Design Engineer – New Product Development (NPD)
High-Pressure Control Valve – New Product Development (NPD)
Contributing directly to the mechanical development of severe-service, high-pressure industrial control valves. Working across the complete product lifecycle from functional requirements through detailed engineering, simulation, drawing release, and factory trial iterations.
Develop mechanical components for the high-pressure valve program, translating functional specifications into design concepts, parametric 3D models in Siemens NX and Creo, engineering drawings, and manufacturing-ready part definitions.
Perform analytical mechanical and dimensional hand calculations to evaluate design alternatives and component geometry. Assess tolerances, fits, interfacial clearances, and bolt preloads before detailed CAD release.
Support component design decisions through finite element analysis (FEA), assessing stress distributions, deformation limits, and material suitability for high-pressure fluid containment and extreme temperature environments.
Ensure strict compliance with applicable ASME B16.34 valve requirements (pressure-temperature ratings, wall thicknesses, hydrostatic criteria) and ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles on all released engineering documentation.
Work directly with manufacturing and quality teams during trial builds. Investigate part fit, assembly feasibility, and machining observations on the shop floor, rapidly incorporating practical feedback into iterative design revisions.
Create and maintain engineering part data, drawing revisions, engineering change orders (ECO), and BOM-level changes in Siemens Teamcenter, coordinating seamless data handover to production.
Designed and built an internal Microsoft Power Apps tool to track NPD project milestones, task statuses, and open engineering items, providing transparent visibility and follow-up across cross-functional teams.
Engineer – Automotive Exhaust Design & Development
Automotive Exhaust Systems & Sheet Metal Development
Responsible for CAD modeling, FEA simulation, GD&T drawing creation, and reverse engineering for automotive exhaust sheet-metal components, heat shields, and mounting brackets for automotive OEM clients.
Designed concepts and parametric CAD models of automotive exhaust sheet-metal parts, gussets, and mounting brackets, balancing weight, material cost, dynamic durability, and stamping/welding manufacturability.
Conducted finite element structural, thermal gradient, and modal vibration analyses to evaluate fatigue life under cyclic engine road loads, directly guiding structural stiffening and design revisions.
Compared nominal CAD models with 3D optical/laser STL scan data from physical prototype parts. Identified springback and weld distortion deviations, proposing corrective CAD revisions to achieve required tolerances.
Created production-oriented 2D drawings with ASME Y14.5 GD&T callouts, validating drafting feasibility, assembly clearances, and tooling access for manufacturing partners.
Supported RFI/RFQ concept development packages, coordinated design improvements with client engineers, and managed complex multi-variant assembly BOMs in Siemens Teamcenter.
